T O O L S

TOOLs are monsters 'equipped' by The Knight for the purpose of collecting SOULs. There are a few additional purposes, however those purposes may be specific to the TOOL. These are not to be confused with SUBJECTs.

P R O C E S S

TOOLs are chosen carefully and purposefully, and are never chosen on a whim. The Knight will typically look for these things in a TOOL:

  • What tasks a TOOL can carry out.
    • Collection of SOULs.
    • Transportion of SOULs.
    • Overseering & Supervision of other TOOLs.
  • The strength of the TOOL.
    • What SOUL aspect does the TOOL most closely align to?
    • Would the TOOLs' FUEL fit the necessary SOUL aspect?
  • What the TOOL desires.
    • Is it something The Knight could feasibly provide?
    • Is it something The Knight could convince the TOOL it can't do on its own?

S T A T U S E S

  • PENDING: The first connection is still in process of being made.
  • INITIALIZING: The first connection has been made, but the connection has not been established. Typically due to the TOOL not yet making up its mind.
  • BROKEN: If the TOOL's method of communication is interrupted, then the TOOL cannot be contacted and, thus, is unable to finish the connection.
  • DENIED: A rather rare case, but not unheard of. The TOOL, during Initialization, has denied The Knight's offer. It will no longer be contacted.
  • SUCCESS: The TOOL has accepted The Knight's offer, and the connection has been fully established. So long as the TOOL assists The Knight, it will receive the promised benefit.
  • DROPPED: An unfortunate outcome of a TOOL stepping out of line far too often. Whether this is through disobeying orders, or simply refusing to follow through with their end of the Offer. TOOLs that have been DROPPED will not be able to reap the promised benefits, but will still hear the Static and GrbgNs, as well as suffer from The Knight's Rage.
  • CUT: The TOOL's connection has been cut. Can be re-established, but takes some times as the 'strings' recover. Can take up to 10 years to recover full connection.
  • LOST: A Tool that has either passed away or been killed. Works similarly to CUT where, in order to establish a new connection for that TOOL Aspect, the 'strings' need to be recovered.
  • SEVERED: A new development, as The Knight has never had this happen before. Unlike CUT or LOST, a new connection cannot be easily established as the 'strings' have been completely burned away.
